01

Measure more than the empty rectangle.

Start with wall width and height, then note furniture, switches, vents, doors and circulation. A tall portrait can anchor a narrow vertical area; a wider composition may suit a long approach. Photograph the space from its main viewing positions rather than only directly in front of the wall.

02

Hanging and leaning need different plans.

A wall-hung mosaic requires support appropriate to its finished weight and the wall structure. A leaning display still needs a stable location and a plan to prevent movement or tipping. Neither should be treated as a lightweight poster installation.

Brian develops the custom backing and mounting concept for the artwork. Site conditions and installer responsibilities are agreed before installation; a visualization does not substitute for that assessment.

03

Make light part of the composition.

Cube faces and edges respond to room lighting. A surface that looks rich under soft illumination can show reflections under a direct spotlight. Discuss daylight, nearby windows and adjustable lighting early, especially when fine portrait detail is important.

The finished Prince mosaic offers a real example of the material and depth. Your orientation, palette and dimensions are developed around your own setting.

Questions about your artwork

Should I choose the artwork size before the room is finished?

Early dimensions help, but confirm the final furniture plan, clear wall area, viewing positions and mounting conditions before production. Renovation changes can affect both composition and installation.

What should I send first?

Start with the subject or idea, approximate dimensions, a description of the space, your location and desired timing. Brian can explain which reference images or site details will help next.
