A public project needs a clear connection to its community and audience. Share the commissioning brief, selection criteria, intended location and the story the work should tell. Public access, interpretation and the responsibilities of the commissioning body belong in the conversation from the start.
02
Evaluate requirements before proposing a material.
Durability, accessibility, cleaning, fire requirements, tamper resistance and structural support may affect what is appropriate. Outdoor exposure or public interaction introduces additional considerations. Brian’s existing indoor artwork should not be treated as a tested solution for every civic environment.
Any required engineering, permits, insurance, fabrication standards or specialist installation must be identified in the project requirements and agreement.
03
A proposal is an invitation to review.
Brian welcomes consultation and consideration for suitable commissions. The portfolio demonstrates artistic technique; it is not a claim of completed municipal projects or approved public installations. Concept imagery is labeled accordingly.
Provide the application process, budget framework, timeline and site contact. Feasibility, eligibility and the scope of any proposed work are reviewed before commitments are made.
YOUR PROJECT
Tell Brian what you have in mind.
Share the subject, approximate dimensions, display location and timing in the existing inquiry form. Mention that your project is an art commission. Brian will discuss the idea, current availability and the appropriate next step before a scope is agreed.
This page does not claim prior city commissions. It presents Brian’s availability for suitable consultations and proposals, with documented artwork used to show his creative approach.
What should I send first?
Start with the subject or idea, approximate dimensions, a description of the space, your location and desired timing. Brian can explain which reference images or site details will help next.
Independent artwork by Brian Bemo. No affiliation with or endorsement by depicted artists, estates or brands is implied. Commercial and room mockups are concepts where labeled.
